Why do I need to Secure a Password

Your email holds important conversations, information about banking accounts, and perhaps documents and sensitive data. In any case, the last thing you want is for a malicious user to send out spam or spyware to your trusted friends and colleagues.

Switch it up with your characters

  • Use at least one upper case letter
  • Use at least one lower case letter
  • Use a number
  • Use a symbol character from this special set: ' ! @ $ % ^ & * ( ) - _ = + [ ] ; : ' " , < . > / ?
  • Use at least six characters
  • Don't use repeating characters
  • Don't use spaces

How safe is your email account?

When you create an email account, make sure you have a reliable secondary email. You can add your mobile number through account settings so that you receive a password reset code every time a change is made. You can even disable password recovery via your email if it is enabled on your smart-phone.

Your security question is the only information which can be viewed by others. This, along with your password, has to be unique so that only you can access your email account. Logging in regularly to your email account is one way to make sure it stays safe. Most email services need at least a day of inactivity after the password reset request has been sent.

How can I make things easier?

Get tools to store and protect your passwords. With a Password Manager, you will never have to worry about spyware and keyloggers. The application uses a virtual keyboard and never connects with the Internet for your safety. Gain access to all your configured accounts via an encrypted master key and make logging in simpler and faster.
